I can’t count the ways I’m fortunate! So I’ll start with the fact that I’m born in into this precious human life ! Each breath I take I’m grateful. It’s good to be reminded of this and all of the positive things that can be so easily overlooked ! 1 Reply Ben7 years agoBenSo good reading all the ways people are recounting how they're fortunate. I often forget, but yes - just to be alive, to be able to see this screen, to connect with any of you at all, to eat, to live in a place with ample trees, to be able to walk around, to have kind friends, to hear! All these things I often take for granted and so many more. I am fortunate to have slept peacefully and safely through the night; to have fresh, clean water for a cup of tea upon waking; to have my senses and body in “working” order; to have a healthy mind even with its dips and turns; to experience the warmth and light of the sun rising; to have a small, crooked yet comfortable casita to live in; to have water and soap for a ... I didn’t realize it before and this is one of the major benefits of having a spiritual life (and of course, of Br. David!) I am a survivor of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma so that I’m even here is a miracle…and this is not the only one in my blessed life. Ah, the benefits to me of having a spiritual life and forums like this! 4 Reply Palm7 years agoPalmLike the word of today, I am fortunate I can take a rest between two breaths and turn inwards in prayer for five minutes and that this can be the most relevant thing I could do today, just that 3 Reply Kevin7 years agoKevinI am fortunate in more ways than I can count, actually. I am alive, I could read today’s daily question with my own eyes and I read it on a computer screen that is connected to the Internet. How amazing is that? I am also fortunate because I have plans for this day and look forward to experiencing each hour that comes. Hallelujah! – Kevin 3 Reply Malag7 years agoMalagIt starts with taking a breath and realising I’m alive. Then noticing my five senses are working. Then I can get out of bed and walk..And l can eat, drink and be sheltered. That already makes me so fortunate, before I add in all the rest of my privileged life. But then I need to stop the comparison any further as measuring against other privileged people leads to pain. 2 Reply My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
