With my daughter it is really proportional, the more I give, the more I am enriched
Palm,
I feel the same way about my 3 boys.
I feel the last 4 questions I’ve done nothing but comment about the parent relationship. It is challenging to be a parent, but giving so much of ourselves really is joyous. I’m often amazed by how much my kids teach me about love and life.
Yes Antoinette, they are great teachers, and I also worry that I focus a lot on parenting ???? but it is challenging and, as Francine commented to me once, there is nothing wrong with that.
Don’t worry Palm, you are in a good place here, this is a “sacred” community, as Diane always says in Gratitude Lounge. You can feel at home. You are a mother, like Antoinette, like me, and our sons are a basic part on our lives. Each of us writes his/her reflections. And our experiences often start from our sons/daughters. I always like reading your posts and see your icon, Palm.
Thank you dear Anna, so true what you say, I feel very safe to express myself in this community, it has been a true blessing and I enjoy reading your posts very much, and seeing your flower and name Anna ????
When I give from a true place, I feel connected, grateful and generally peaceful. When I give from a place of external pressure, expectation, fear, guilt, obligation, shame or scarcity, my giving is not helpful or effective for anyone.
So true for me too KC
Thanks Palm????
Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened.
JESUS
Amen!
I am enriched by trusting in the Truth and The Way.
Give everything up and trust the universe to do what’s best for you.
I am enriched by the glory of grace and knowing that I Am knocking and I am receiving. I am giving up controlling and demanding!
I’m grateful for trusting the universe and knowing its got my back!
The act of giving to someone, reinforces in me the beautiful experience of our inter-connected-ness. It feels like an honour – my heart is joyful, my spirit is peaceful, and my experience of the world brightens. “And I think to myself, what a wonderful world”.
Good Morning,. I have been struggling with depression for several weeks. I was a ball of fire when I arrived home in late March but after two very busy weeks of getting things back in order, I plummeted.
I walked early this morning and it was cool and refreshing. As I left the house, I realized that there were at least 6 very young Mourning Doves sunning themselves in my flower bed. I think one has an injured wing and since there are cats in the neighborhood, it causes me concern.

It reminds me that in some way we are all wounded. A dear friend who has suffered from severe Rheumatoid Arthritis since she was 18 often says, “Bring it to the foot of the cross.”
Personally, I have often met Abba there and discovered that S/He too is wounded. S/He suffers for his/her children. The lesson might just be to use our wounds to heal the world. Blessings, Carol
During my working years when I managed a few people at small newspapers. I tried to give them freedom and encouragement to be creative and have been enriched by their friendships.
Giving of anything for me is so rewarding in what it brings back to me, feelings of well being and fullness inside. It is as the prayer states: ” When I give, I receive”
So true.
giving has increased my propensity(big word for me
) to give more because of the joy that giving brings to others.
It can get addictive
These days someone visited, for whom I care professionally since nearly 30 years. When he left this morning, he was able to share his utter despair about his desperate condition of health, which he said was strongly present when he arrived here three days ago and which was much better, as was his overall condition when he left this morning.
It was deeply touching to hear him open up about this very delicate topic. He had given his trust and hope and confidence. I just followed the given signs ...

It was deeply touching to hear him open up about this very delicate topic. He had given his trust and hope and confidence. I just followed the given signs and gave my support and care and knowledge. And a third – grace – has been there for him as well. Something which one cannot make. Finally it seems there is some light now at the end of the tunnel for him, which makes me feel deeply grateful towards life, and for both being part of and as well being allowed to witness this process, grateful for his entrusting himself to my care still after all these years and for the heartfelt connection with him. It leaves me in awe of the wonder, reflected as well in the word for the day today.
Your beautiful story exemplifies that we receive much more in return than what we give.
the act of giving connects me to “the larger self” (I pulled that from Jim Carrey’s commencement speech hahhh…it’s a brilliant speech on fear or love). I am blessed beyond measure to have found how I can serve the world each day.
Your funnny! Haha. Thanks for sharing!
His was a truly an amazing commencement speech!
Occasionally, if it happens that I have missed an opportunity to give of myself to a person in need, or to support a cause for good, I feel that I have let my own inner self down in some way. When I do give of myself to others in need and/or support worthy causes I feel fulfilled and more fully utilized in both heart and spirit.
Yes, giving is balm for the heart and spirit.
