I would see myself and life as perfect. I would drop the burden of self doubt and judgement. I would love because I would know every moment is a gift.
Help me learn to accept things and not be victimized by the heartbreak I’m feeling. But accept that this too shall pass and I’m learning to becomr a stronger person.
I wouldn’t let fear keep me from doing the things I’ve always wanted to do-knowing that whatever happened could be something I need for growth.
I wouldn’t be so anxious
Before I reject any experience, for myself or those I love, I would look again and search for the hidden pearl!
Beautifully said Valerie! I like the analogy ALOT.
I might stop being ungrateful during what is perceived as “disadvantageous” which would allow me to find things to be grateful for and this might be the magic key to unlock the door of self imposed mind imprisonment.
It is good to see you back Trevor! It seems like it has been a while since you posted.
Mary
I will learn from this question. Thank you.
well said Michael, I like your honest answer!
I already subscribe to this belief. I still have not learned how to enjoy the more painful challenges. I appreciate them, but breathe a sigh of relief and gladness when they are over.
Worry and anxiety would not have a hold on me like it does when I feel pressure at work. I would be more calm and peaceful and have the right perspective on life. I would enjoy life and be curious about events and my own experiences. I would not feel I had to push things away or not let go on the other hand. My experience of life could just be.
Flow!!
I do believe this but most of the time I’m ambushed by the challenge of the lesson.
anxieties, fears, trepidation would be lessened. strength would come quicker and easier.
worry would instantly melt away like ice cream in 90 degree weather, with sprinkles
If believed everything is happening for my learning, I might be more open to experience whatever the situation and actively look for the gift.
Thanks to all who sent me notes yesterday. I have to hit the road today so this will be brief. You can’t separate learning from evolution and we are all called to evolve. Acceptance makes it easier. Neuroscientist Dr. Rick Hanson does a good job of addressing this. You might want to check him out. Blessed BE, Carol
I would be less defensive, less guarded, especially if I remember that the same applies to everyone else, too.
I believe that each moment, day and experience offers an invitation to learn if/ as I stay open, available to and curious about what I am learning.
When I accept this invitation, I become more relaxed, adaptable and flexible. Life has greater meaning, purpose and ease. I also feel a closer connection with and acceptance of the people and things that matter, and a letting go of those that don’t.
Good company is invaluable for the learning! ???? …
Yes, I agree, I just wish I could stay more open to learning!
I am so with you Francine. I too find it so tough to stay open to the learning. Ugh!
Sometimes I wonder if we learn more in the less enjoyable company. I agree we have the opportunity to learn every day.
Hi Deb, I so agree, and find it so challenging to be open to the learning from people I find difficult. Too bad they are so often our best teachers!
This is a relatively new concept to me and I’m just integrating it. A recent job experience taught me, I think, to broaden my experience and definitions. Right now, I’m sick, likely with pneumonia, and it teaches me how precious and precarious a gift life is; and also my vulnerability and commonality with those with a malady.
Hope you get well soon!
Thank you!
Probably not very much because I already believe that everything around me is an opportunity to learn. A more pertinent question for me to ask of myself, however, is this: Do I take that opportunity to learn? Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t.
– Kevin
I agree with you Kevin, and when there is an opportunity to learn, sometimes I don’t take it.
Is this part of our human nature?
I believe that it is, we are not always perfect. Maybe…. I can even learn from this vulnerability, I mean from my tiredness, or my most challenging time, or my imperfection. However, I realize this learning only after the end of this experiences.
Amen I agree! It’s almost summer let’s float!
Me too, Kevin. I have to admit that sometimes I am just so tired of learning the lessons of life, and I just want to float for awhile.
AMEN, Pilgrim! Sometimes, like today, I am tired.
I believe we learn all the time, from the world, other people in it, events that occur. We never stop learning and adapting and evolving. But I also believe we need to be open to the learning for it to have an effect on us. Open our minds and hearts to what is being taught and not taking things for granted or going through life closed off to experiences.
I do believe that everything is happening for my learning. What the universe has taught me now is to trust deeply in it.
I believe I Am free.
I agree. My better half does anyways. Now time for the other half to learn its lesson well.
Yes, well said!
Well said, Antoinette. I quite agree.
