To remember to be kind and compassionate to those in need and to those who are also not in need. We all need love. Remembering to treat all sentient beings with respect as well as mother earth – our home. 0 Reply Malag7 years agoMalagI was doing some clearing out of my parents’ house, both of whom have passed on. In my childhood bedroom I was closing the windows more than 30 years after I lived there. There is a knack to the windows and I instinctively remembered how. The now of 30 years ago connecting to the now today as if the passage of time had collapsed. It felt remarkable sharing that moment with two different selves. 2 Reply Kit7 years agoKitWith all the weather problems we have been dealing with, we should remember to count our blessings. To some they may seem small , but to those with no power, water or homes- we are blessed. Remember kindness itself is a blessing. When you have it or when you share it and when you receive it. 1 Reply Shelly7 years agoShellyNothing large, just simple pleasures. Remembering the quietest contentments like meeting someone’s eyes in a shared private joke or finding the perfect words to express your thoughts or sunshine after a long stormy week. Just those things that are often overlooked, but come almost unsought as small elevations in the day, like a match being struck. 2 Reply Hot Sauce7 years agoHot SauceThe sacred memory of the history of Israel, the history of the Christian Gentiles incorporated into that family, the history of the Muslims incorporated into that family, and the sacred history of my own place and the place of my family within that story is calling for remembrance today. Perhaps, too, it may be useful to look back at my genealogy to see where I really come from. Anybody know of any good genealogy web sites you would recommend? 1 Reply SeeAreLow7 years agoSeeAreLowMy friend’s father who passed away just last week, my friend who is recovering from his recent stroke, and the reality check to remember that I have so much to be thankful for. Live your life in gratefulness .. every single moment is a blessing and a gift. 1 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorMistakes of the past haunting me in various ways. Let them not be repeated, lest the haunting turn into a full-fledged conjuring of bad juju. 0 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelAll the times never giving up. All the love I’ve been shown by so many. I am blessed. 2 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelToday on my 68th birthday I remember my parents and all they gave me, most importantly my being here. My father died on this day at 83 and on my 40th birthday, and I am grateful for the insights into life that he and my mother shared. Both were truly loving and kind and my remembering them today is a vow to be the same. Be at peace today as a gift to yourselves Grateful friends! 2 Reply Gina7 years agoGinaHappy Birthday! So to remember is …. to remember the radiant emptiness of spirt as I am sitting in that stillness of radiant silence. I will listen to that stillness. 2 Reply Ed Schulte7 years agoEd SchulteWhat is calling out for remembrance today? “Do this in remembrance of me.” “re-member-ance” of what those words within the N.T. say and mean. They are the most quoted and yet most mis-understood (and therefore least practiced) of any of the requests made by J.E. the Christ to humankind. 0 Reply Christina7 years agoChristinaI have a nagging sense that I should write more. Yesterday, I received one acceptance and one rejection (gently done) of two pieces I had done. There are two other themes in the offing that I haven’t been able to “get my head around.” I tend to be an anxious sort and so “write, write, write” is tugging at my head and heart, even though I haven’t got some “substance” to put down (the Creative Process.) God help me to write well! 3 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorPractice, practice, practice. 1 Reply Christina7 years agoChristinaOh yeah. 0 Reply Kevin7 years agoKevinToday I finish up staffing a three day children's retreat that I founded over 30 years ago. I retired from running the year round event approximately four years ago, but continued staffing up to the present time. These days, I am remembering with some astonishment just how easily I did all this way back when and how much extra work it requires doing nearly the same things today! That may not be the kind of remembrance that today's daily question was encouraging but that is precisely what ...
