It means being willing to embrace all of life, the good and the bad, to live with the courage to be vulnerable to pain but still holding a spirit of hope and optimism in our hearts, grateful for the imperfect but beautiful gift of life.
To me it is to give my whole heart to others. At present this has meant time to my family, visiting before Christmas as I will not see most of them this year.
However, this has meant my husband has been at home without me, and this has led him down a dark path again.
I am finding it difficult to make my heart reach everyone I love and my heart seems to be breaking a little because of it..
Wholeheartedly? I feel like I have a hole in my heart right now.
Always if you permit this, let me join zAine in a virtual hug, Lioness.
Bless you, Lioness. May God’s peace be with you and all your loved ones. Sending you caring thoughts.
If you permit, Lioness, may I offer you a virtual hug? It is hard to be torn between loves.
Staying present in kindness with everything that is happening will enable me to live wholeheartedly.
To live from your heart in Christ Consciousness.
Trust in the flow of life. Enjoying each new day, be present in my own life, despite of my many fears and limited beliefes.
I really apprecited Cristina’s quote! My favorite part, I would like to repeat:
“Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway”.
For me, this comes back to honesty–with yourself and others. Let the joy and sorrow be what they are, and respond to them accordingly.
To put one’s self into everything they do eagerly and blessedly.
how you do anything is how you do everything. giving full effort and doing my best in all that I do helps create the habit of living wholeheartedly. when I “put my heart in it” I am giving my best effort. there is a joy, purpose, and intention in living wholeheartedly
Wholeheartedness from Brene Brown: “They really seem to engage with the world from this place of worthiness. You know, they say, yeah, I’m screwing things up and I’m imperfect and I’m afraid, but I’m still worthy of love and belonging, like their love and belonging wasn’t on the table, it wasn’t negotiable.”
I love her work!
yes John I like this explanation too.
Hi John, I shall never forget when I realized the difference between worth and being worthy. Today, I know that I am of worth no matter how I am feeling or what I am life-limiting message I might be telling myself. I was raised Roman Catholic and the phrase “O Lord I am not worthy” was always ringing in my ears but today I know that being worthy doesn’t matter to me because I know I’m of worth.
Dear Carol, I agree with you, there has been something not correctly brought to us when we were thought “you are not worthy”. It is one of my struggle. We are not God, but God loves us. We are walking ahead together on an interesting path of discernment.
Letting joy flow and letting pain be pain. Darkness and light embraced together without label. Giving without counting, loving without clinging. Detachment for the sake of union.
Being here!
Tolle’s, “Present Moment Reminder” of to-day reflects is “Being here” too.
Quoting it
“When you are present with another human being you are not trapped in the judgements of the mind.”
I will also post a note for those now familiar with him. Tolle is presenting a “Free” (as in no cost and no “hooks” ) talk on “Christ Consciousness” to-day at 1 PM PST/ 4PM EST , Goggle ‘Eckhart Teachings’

What does it mean to live wholeheartedly?
“the ability to redefine the boundaries of possibility.”
therefore “Grace-fully”
To greet and seize each new day and all that it brings without reserve, without dread and without hesitation. I have but one ticket on this merry-go-round and I intend to ride full circle ‘til it stops. Given the options, why not?
I think of our enthusiastic, always open for surprise Brother David...he would know how to do this. I think also of that quote by Mother Teresa. Likely you know the one:
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest...

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.
You know it’s funny: I had forgotten the last line. Maybe the best of all!
Godspeed to all who rest here! Christina
Thank you Christina for sharing this beautiful quote.. I haven’t heard it in a long time. What is so reassuring to me. is It is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. There is so much guidance here.
Lovely
Dear Christina,
I have never set up a profile, but I read the comments daily. I felt compelled to reply to your comment. I have read that many times, but today I truly needed these words! Thank you for posting.
Christina, thank you for this.
I am deeply grateful that you were inspired to write this quote this morning.
Joanne

Yours is actually such an encouraging post, dear Christina. Thank you for your reflection, as sometimes it is not easy. Daily life, body weakness, season’s mood….I have to copy this words in my journal, and repeat them for some days.
