Such a good question to remember, as I find it difficult to make long term plans, the next right action feels more manageable and more “doable”, even if it means taking no action at all. As Glennon Doyle says, “doing the next right thing, one step at a time, will take you all the way home”
At the moment, the next right action is to enjoy time on my own as my daughter is visiting her grand parents till tomorrow
Breathe deeply and create truth
To continue practicing self compassion, to see what I am able to apply from formal meditation and prayers in my daily life. See no difference. To be truly grateful to experience awe.
Gargi, I want you to know I am missing you and thinking of you with much love.
This may not be a good time for you to write in. Keep practicing self compassion.
You are a beautiful and much loved person on this site.
I send you prayers, positive thoughts, and much love,
Mary
Mary thank you thank you thank you, as I am practicing self compassion I realise so many things that it is overwhelming yet there is a gentle guidance from within holding me. I have been led to mindful meditation which is so different from what I have been doing praying and waiting for patiently to connect and take refuge within........yet now I realise mindful meditation is such an important tool which can be so helpful.

Today I had a beautiful thought which occurred in my reflection in the morning I feel to share with you and all here” All dharma lead to ME and are limbs of truth and can support each other, have reverence for all’
I felt safe and tranquil. Mary your friendship and support from all here means a lot to me. Thank you once again. Love to all
To slow and calm my spirit enough to listen.
To do what is in accord with Heaven & Earth. Whatever it may be, as long as it is in accord with Dharma (Truth) everything will work out the way it is supposed to, for the benefit of all sentient beings.
For myself personally, start doing yoga.
For others, continue loving kindness.
On a global scale, continue to recycle.
Examine my path, and keep learning
To keep doing what I am doing. Taking steps to improve my health, staying of grains and suga, eating healthier foods, exercising, staying off of alchohol...drinking herbal medicinal teas..trying to remember to practice mindfulness..and being kind. So discouraged with my progress lately but I need to look at non scale progress. I also need to look at what I've gotten done rather than what still needs to be done. My next right step is to keep chipping away at it and my path will become more eviden...

So discouraged with my progress lately but I need to look at non scale progress. I also need to look at what I’ve gotten done rather than what still needs to be done. My next right step is to keep chipping away at it and my path will become more evident. I’m sure of it. <3
That is very much the way the Sufi Mystic and Poet Gaibi expresses it…
.”Make yourself your homework and DO it.”
There are so many directions to go with this question! It’s one I often ask myself, and I appreciate the chance to delve into it with others here.
To focus on one particular area, it seems to me the next right action globally is to stop the life-negating combination of the oppression of others with the destruction of nature.

To focus on one particular area, it seems to me the next right action globally is to stop the life-negating combination of the oppression of others with the destruction of nature.
Personally, for me, this has to start small with myself. Which might mean simply slowing down today, breathing, connecting openly from my heart, singing songs that keep me grounded and that heal the wounds I carry, so I don’t act from a place of compulsively seeking escape from anxiety.
For the people closest to me and who I work with as a therapist, it means that I show up, ready to connect with an open heart and focused mind. And then giving in a heartfelt way that meets the needs I hear being expressed.
For my community, it seems to me it means asking each other what we need and what we have to offer. Truly listening. And then being able to give in a way that truly meets each other.
These are some ideas! It may seem different tomorrow. Thank you for the chance to ponder this in community!
Amen!
Thank you for such an elegant pondering. Next level pondering.
We had a terrific storm early this morning and I arose tired. My “next right action” is to sit here in my chair, listen to raucous crows training a juvenile and the other birds, while I fully feel the tiredness and appreciate how fortunate I am to be tired in such comfort.
Realization.
Realizing, once and for ALL … A Human Being’s Selfhood is more then just in the Phenomena of Life,
It Is LIFE itself.
Even in the expressions of Humans Being we can see the ‘Divinity of a Human Beings’. We see it as their ability to use the Holy Mind.
That is a critical ..”next right action”.
No next, only now. Smile’ please.
Yes, thank you.
Caring for Animals’ Animal Rescue – grateful I’m able to do this
Awesome work.
Thank you for doing this important work, Barbara!
just…be myself…..
have new white blank canvasses….. time to create….
garden awaits….time to create…..
The next right action is to catch myself before I get stressed out. I work in customer service and am dealing with people all day. I would like to catch myself when I'm dealing with a challenging individual and instead of allowing my adrenaline to start flowing, take a deep breath and proceed in a more calm manner. After a stressful encounter with someone I find myself angry and upset, which I often take home with me. I want to practice this "catching" so that I don't do this, and also so th...

I would like to catch myself when I’m dealing with a challenging individual and instead of allowing my adrenaline to start flowing, take a deep breath and proceed in a more calm manner. After a stressful encounter with someone I find myself angry and upset, which I often take home with me. I want to practice this “catching” so that I don’t do this, and also so that I can possibly have a more positive exchange with the individual. I believe that these small moments of more positive interaction can spread to a more positive world.
You will be all the more patient for this. Shitty customers are our teacher, be grateful.
The next right action is forgiveness to see the glory of the truth in everything.
Allow Love and Truth to be the guide and trust the path.
My next right action is to open up to my dreams of being able to give away my gifts to others. The prospect of the gifted economy is wonderful. Open the door to feeling that I have enough and I have enough to give is exciting.
to continue gathering allies in the push to cut “the achievement gap” and anxiety disorders 50% amongst teenagers by February 2019. to continue gathering allies in spreading grateful living message/science. at this very moment the next right action is to finish a letter of recommendation for a student!!
What a savior. Lifting anxiety disorders sounds involved, it sounds like no drugs are involved too.
I’d also like to hear how you’re going about this Michael, as I work with teens as well…
Wonderful michael! How will you cut the gap? I work with teenagers as well! I hope my connection to teenagers would help illuminate anxiety disorders as well. My ideas are to give through meditation and yoga.
The next right action for me this morning is to go food shopping, including a box of broths for my cat Lucy because it’s her 6th birthday Sunday!
THAT’S ONE PAMPERED FELINE!
Indeed, but she’s very sweet!
Generally, the next “right action” for myself is when movement towards a new goal feels effortless, almost automatic, in which my heart and spirit are aligned in “right order.” Safe to say that this does not happen all the time, either. Occasionally an action taken feels forced, hard and exhausting. That’s when I say to myself, why am I doing this? Who me, stubborn? Never!
– Kevin
Appreciating this insight of how it feels taking the next “right action”, which resonates with me
I’m pondering this a bit myself lately, Kevin, as I am in a situation where all signs, prayers, answers, etc. point to a specific action…only there is this resistance in my spirit. I am approaching it as a teacher, attempting to learn what this lesson is so I can feel that ease and effortlessness when the time is right.
Oh yes, I’ve been it that very spot too in the past. It’s not comfortable, or easy, but seems so necessary, too.. Wishing you grace and stamina as you discern.
