I would never change my playful attitude for it keeps me young and vibrant. Giggles and innocence. 0 Reply Susan7 years agoSusanSome of my friends and I played a ‘role playing’ game. It felt good to just be lost in a world of our own and be able to shut out all the problems of this world. This ‘role playing’ game helped me realize that I can have some control over the events that are happening and not feel so overwhelmed with all the horrible news in the world. Playing helps me to sort things out and therefore, helps me to be calmed and at peace within. 0 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorI play everyday, in one way or another. Well, almost everyday. I know when I am “playing” when I start chuckling. Play is something that makes me giggle uncontrollably. If I am playing with other adults, I usually don’t chuckle, so play takes on different forms these days and mostly happens when I am alone. Maybe I need to play more enthusiastically with grown ups? Perhaps I hide the inner child from other adults but let it play when I am alone? 1 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorPlay awakens a sense of not being concerned about the past or future in me. It awakes a carefreeness inside. 1 Reply Hot Sauce7 years agoHot SauceLast time I played was with my dog. When he was a puppy, I used to play tug of war (though maybe that was a bad idea, but it was play nonetheless). Play awakened a spirit of love for my dog, a sense of fun and child-like enjoyment, and good exercise. 2 Reply Alejandra7 years agoAlejandrajugar nos permite salir de las inmensas rutinas del dÃa y de nuestra identidad. Me cuesta mucho eso, y solamente siento que puedo jugar cuando dibujo. 2 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorMuy bien. 0 Reply Cynthia Ann Leighton7 years agoCynthia Ann LeightonToday! On my daily walk. It awakened my appreciation for the tiny bird that darted close by me. For the big interesting looking bird that flew by and settled nearby so that I could watch it for a while 🙂 And for the rabbit that hopped on by. For the leaves and berries I clicked pictures of for use on my youtube channel. It reawakened in me once again an ever deepening appreciation for all of creation!! 1 Reply Trevor7 years agoTrevorWonderful!! 0 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelI am thinking of my limited theater training and the oft-heard “what character did you play?” Or the “whole world is a stage….” line. I agree with such as Alan Watts: Life is play. Enjoy it. 1 Reply Sieger des Friedens7 years agoSieger des Friedensas long, long, long, …. very long time ago. Wtih all missing joy, laughter and singing. What a gap. Huge gap. This is now a reminder to think about how I can integrate it more in my daily life. Will come back again. 2 Reply Always Learning7 years agoAlways LearningI ‘play’ with words. I love to joke and be silly. Not only does it bring me joy, but I feel others’ happiness and laughter multiplies my efforts. Laughter is wonderful medicine! 4 Reply Gina7 years agoGinaas Kevin says , play is a vital part of understanding the whole person…so I play as often as possible and with children whenever I can….recently had a day of painting with a 2 and 5 year old! I like to think I am a” free spirit ” as a friend calls me…… 1 Reply kathleen7 years agokathleenI play with my dog. Its totally refreshing. I also plan structured fun activities daily with my kids in school so we can all keep in mind the bigger picture of our lives. 1 Reply Kit7 years agoKitEach day I wake up is a new day of playfulness. There are many things required to exist, but add a bit of whimsy and imagination. Music helps and simply feeling free to be. Offer an extra hand to people you meet. Let the impatient drivers go first. You only see what you are looking for. Look for the childlike fun- you will awaken the child in you. Keep smiling and laughing and life is easier. One smile can do miracles for someone needing a smile that day. 4 Reply Michael7 years agoMichaelI am fortunate to have 3 little children so it is often. More, however, is possible n necessary! A month later I miss this dog terribly and wish he and my daughter lived close enough to visit regularly. When I was working, I also made it a point to play from time to time with my clients, as individuals and with children and teems in my supports groups that I ran for decades. Playing, in my view, is a vital part of understanding the whole person. 4 Reply My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
