Sylvie6 years agoSylvieSince I work with children and teenagers, I’m in contact with playfulness, adventures every day, as with their fears and sorrows. My own adventurous side has come short lately, and this question brought me in contact with it. Thank you. 1 Reply Marshall Curtis6 years agoMarshall CurtisDumpster diving, to the point of hoarding almost. In fact, right now I got a load of junk in my condo! A few items I keep, but the rest I give away, mostly to the Goodwill, and then I write it off my taxes. It also helps to save landfill. It is amazing how wasteful people are nowadays! 90% of the stuff I find needs little or no repair and cleaning. One of my favorite finds from last year was a Vornado fan in perfect condition, which I still use a lot. I have also found numerous vacuum cleaners and fixed them up (including the one I kept). I have even found a power inflatable guest bed, which works with only a slight leak. Today I found a couple of big wall hanger impressionist(?) paintings (a first, though no doubt prints). Also, I talk to my “pet” inflatable rubber ball, Geneva. Doing so helps me feel young, and helps put a limiter on my negativity. Because it helps me to externalize my problems. When I get negative, she would say “are we being negative again?” Yet, she is negative in her own right! ????…You got a problem with my negativity, just look in the mirror! (see what I mean?) Every day can be and often is an adventure in random moments of connection and surprise. Yesterday we had a delightful excursion on our bikes to the local gardens to see the new mini bird sanctuary. Playful and adventurous in a simple way. 3 Reply Francine Marie Tolf6 years agoFrancine Marie TolfMy goofy cat Lilly came to mind immediately. She brings out the affectionate, silly side of me! Thank God for animals. 2 Reply Anita6 years agoAnitaWhen I’m out in the woods walking, sitting in a creek – turning over stones for treasures, or at the ocean playing in the waves.Listening to music – dancing and singing. The truth is – NOT enough. Great question! 2 Reply Hot Sauce6 years agoHot SauceI find playfulness and adventure whenever I play with or bond with animals, as I have a deep sense of care and love for them. I also find adventure in exploring new places when I am running. I like to run on trials and paths I have never been on before to see where they will take me and appreciate my new discoveries. I also enjoy theatre, as this allows me to temporarily take on a different identity and explore it, so as to have deeper insights into the nature of reality. 1 Reply grateful sea6 years agograteful seaPlayfulness abounds when I say yes to the invitations of my dog's seven-year old, puppy heart. His desire to play is a bottomless well. The backyard is scattered with found objects that have caught his fancy. He has an especial knack for finding abandoned balls, an amazing assortment -- from tennis balls in various states of chewiness and peeled-ness, to hard shiny plastic balls, to a deflated folded-over kickball we call the green burrito, to his latest treasure a ratty old basketball he fou... He has an especial knack for finding abandoned balls, an amazing assortment — from tennis balls in various states of chewiness and peeled-ness, to hard shiny plastic balls, to a deflated folded-over kickball we call the green burrito, to his latest treasure a ratty old basketball he found in an eddy of the creek and carried home at great effort in his jaws. He loves them all. Not to mention dented frisbees, plastic bones and a prodigious stick collection. His favorite games are chase, fetch, keep-away, tug-of-war, splash… Sometimes he runs two or three full-speed circles around the outside of the house just for the sheer joy of it. I am so grateful for his extraordinarily playful companionship in my life. Adventure awaits when I examine something closely in nature and I begin to follow the trail of questions that arise. Life yesterday, when I came across a colony of odd plants growing out of a rock and later learned it is called walking fern. I am grateful for a curious mind. But watching squirrels chase each other or kittens playing always remind me of the fun of playfulness. 4 Reply Doreen Nixon6 years agoDoreen NixonI find it when I am out in Nature. There I feel connected and then playfulness and adventure seem to come natural. Along with koy. 4 Reply kathleen6 years agokathleenWith my students!.To connect with younger ones I have to bring out the play aspect of myself. 2 Reply Barbara Morris6 years agoBarbara MorrisI was brainstorming yesterday with my husband things we can do to have fun. I cant think of any activities i do just for the fun of it. If im doing work i usually enjoy it, but i dont think thats the same as playing. Im looking forward to reading everyone’s responses because i am at a loss. I was taught by my father that fun is selfish and irresponsible. 4 Reply Michael6 years agoMichaelWhenever I see a baby passing by in a stroller and she or he and I share a quick smile. What, joy! The adventure is in the hope that the spirit will spread. 3 Reply Ose6 years agoOseWhile being with the kids in my office, and the adventures to discover while being close to others, friends, loved ones or foreigners. To seek understanding, to support, if possible, to spend time together. Still, the question inspires to be more open to creativity concerning the playful aspects and to be more aware that every encounter is an adventure, unknown, not yet formed, and full of possibilities. Thank you for this question. 4 Reply Michael6 years agoMichaelmy kids at home! my wife and her craziness! the students at work!
