Knowing that there is a God. Despite all the challenges and hardships, God is there to comfort us.
feeling inspired by nature is a good one .. or feeling inspired by learning new things
Experiencing my relationship with God as a friend, really getting to know my husband after all these years together, throwing pottery on the wheel, being in nature, writing, my animals, and hearing someone say the words, “You made me feel heard.” To me all these are humbling experiences as well as ones that bring me alive, for multiple reasons.
talking to my heavenly Father thru the day.
to look into the light …. for example a candle light
Walking barefoot in the grass
Seeing my wife smile
Morality and virtue.
Reflecting on fall arriving early in my area of the country reminds me again that nothing is permanent…everything changes constantly and thus it is all the more important to be grateful for the little things in life…like watching my puppy grow into adolescence,
Seeking knowledge, embracing mystery, enjoying the small things in life, practicing gratitude, and listening and learning from others, especially those with whom I disagree, all give me life.
The goal to be a blessing in someone’s life. No matter how small, every smile or greeting you make can have a positive effect on someone. “live light, travel light, be the light.”
Today’s quote resonates for me ‘when one us able to overcome the romantic and emotional attitude, one discovers truth even in the kitchen sink’. Chogram Trungpa. Brief conversations with my husband and a dear friend this morning kept my flame burning so far…
Being outside, especially in the morning feeling a cool breeze, hearing the birds begin song, and the smell of the morning dew.
Everything has the potential to spark aliveness for me. I think the underlying quality is being grateful, thankful and turning toward what is presenting itself to me in that quality.
mindfulness and connecting with the present moment
actions that spring from thoughts and imagination. working through the daily interference trying to disrupt my mission. my family. the kindness of people. encouraging courage.
Nature. The air after a thunderstorm. The silence of the world after a major snowstorm. The beautiful first flowers of spring. The quietness of a fall day with contrasting colors of the leaves and bright blue sky. A walk in the woods or along the ocean demands a quietness in my body. So much to see in the world when we are quiet and refreshed. To see the world through the eyes of a child energizes me. A butterfly on a flower on a lazy hazy summer day? Beam me up Scotty!
Me too!
Meditation, prayer, laughter, music
When I manage to roll out of bed and to wander to a yoga session down the street, all sleepy, and then have a wonderful time there, breathing, stretching, seeing the world upside down, meditating, pondering some big questions and laughing with our attempts at answering them. And then leaving the place with a bit of extra buoyancy in my steps. Plus a good cup of coffee and a chat with my mom on Whatsapp (or Zap, as they would say in Brazil). Now I’m alive. On to work, to think and to write with...

On to work, to think and to write with that wind in my sails.
My nieces, three of whom are triplets!
Welcome to all who pass here!
